Audi of America appoints Spencer Reeder as director of Government Affairs

HERNDON, Va., August 17, 2018 – Audi of America has appointed Spencer Reeder as director of Government Affairs, effective immediately. This position is located in Sacramento, California and reports to Scott Keogh, president, Audi of America.

In his position, Reeder will be responsible for leading the Audi U.S. public policy voice on zero-emissions vehicles (ZEVs), including battery electric and hydrogen fuel cell technology, and associated infrastructure.

Reeder joins Audi from Vulcan, Inc. in Seattle, Washington, where he was director of the Climate and Energy Program, and led Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen’s global philanthropic investments in climate-, energy-, and transportation-related issues, including the Smart City Challenge, developed and implemented in partnership with the U.S. Department of Transportation. Reeder was a lead author on the 2014 U.S. National Climate Assessment and earlier served as Lead Policy Strategist for Climate Change at the Washington State Department of Ecology during Governor Christine Gregoire’s administration. He has also held research and engineering roles with The Boeing Company, focusing on advanced aerospace materials.

Reeder holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from University of Washington and a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering Sciences from University of Colorado. He was also selected as a Bosch Fellow, spending more than a year studying European policy and working in Germany in the aerospace and earth science sectors.
